Compronde mi rubiano
e ta e unico cos cu bo tin.
Dia cu bo a nace
tera no a compronde bo
bida a sostene bo
pero aire a traishona bo
lama a supuestamente floria bo
i santo no a logra haci bo sano.

e la wordo manda, wordo parti den dos
cu un celebro minimo
sin conoce su uno
e la bira sordo,
e la sapatia,
desembarca,
wordo renombra
pa consulta cu e unico cu sa ken e ta pretende di ta.
Compronde mi rubiano
ta e ternura di palabranan cu bo nunca a conoce
di oro bo a nace
pero di piedra leve bo ta biba
i aire?

I first wrote this poem for our National Flag Day on the 18th of March 2006. I then recited the poem at other cultural events including The Introduction of the Cultural Calendar of 2008 which took place at the Cas di Cultura in December of 2007.
