From artist to auctioneer

ORANJESTAD – The Green Aruba Conference VIII was held on the 16th and 17th of November 2017. This year, the organizers decided to hold an art auction to collect funds in order to help our neighbors in the Caribbean affected by the hurricanes last September. I was excited to be approached to take on the role of the auctioneer.

Awa den Biña: Aruba’s first female PM

ORANJESTAD – Waiting impatiently backstage at the Plaza Betico Croes took me all the way back to 2005 when I introduced my first book ‘Beyond Insanity.’ That was the last time I felt so nervous. When it was finally time to recite my poem “Awa den Biña” dedicated to Aruba’s first female Prime Minister I felt my hands shaking and I knew I lacked grip on my voice before saying a word.
